Corporate photo shoots are often requested by companies for their websites and marketing literature. As a photographer, you need to be able to adapt your skills to a corporate situation, understand your clients and get a feeling for what they want to get out of the shoot. Much of this is in the communication before the shoot itself. Talk to the client and find out why they are booking in the photography. You can also ask them if they have any examples of work they like, to see what kinds of styles you can create for them.
When you work with the clients, it is important you make them feel at ease. You don’t want to come out with stiff, unattractive photos that don’t represent the company very well. Talk them through what you want to do and direct them in front of the camera. Listen as well – come with your own ideas but take on board what your clients want.
